When it comes to designing a modern, functional woodwork room, strength, safety, and adaptability are essential. That’s exactly what De La Salle Catholic College Caringbah had in mind when they partnered with Noxx Industries to upgrade not one, but two of their TAS woodwork rooms.
The Challenge
The school was looking for more than just standard tables. They needed robust TAS Room tables that could withstand the heavy use of daily woodworking classes while keeping safety front of mind. Teachers also required a layout that allowed for flexibility in the classroom, without compromising on storage or visibility.
Security was another key concern. Traditional under-bench storage solutions can become hiding spots for lost tools or unwanted items. De La Salle wanted a solution that was durable, secure, and easy to monitor.
The Solution
We supplied a set of our Solid Noxx TAS Room Tables, specially fitted with caged storage compartments. These heavy-duty cages provide ample room for tool storage while maintaining visibility for both teachers and students. The mesh construction also adds a layer of durability, while discouraging misuse or hidden storage.
To give teachers and students the ability to easily reconfigure the classroom layout, each table was fitted with foot castors. This made it possible to quickly adapt the learning environment based on group sizes, lesson requirements, or even to clear the space for cleaning or demonstrations.
Designed for Longevity
One of the most appreciated features of the Noxx table design is its replaceable worktop panels. The work surface is the most-used area in any woodwork room, and over time, wear and tear is inevitable. Instead of replacing the entire unit, the college can simply replace the top panels as needed—saving both time and money in the long term.
